We are delighted to welcome in the gallery again South African Artist Frans Gertenbach for our first exhibition for 2022. It's great to be back and we are looking forward to open our doors to our regulator visitors and hoping to meet some new ones.
For his last body of work "A picture of Me" Frans Gertenbach is showcasing 14 acrylic paintings. The portraits explore the effect that other people’s influences both past and present, have had, and still have on his own personal life and the direction it takes.
Human behaviour can only properly be understood if it is considered as being directly or indirectly influenced by others.
It is now well accepted that our personal sense of self, our thoughts, feelings and behaviour are all derived from other people.
The launch will take place on Thursday 2rd February at 6pm (Part of Late Night Art Belfast) and the exhibition will run until Saturday 12th February.
