The Frequency of Things by Josephine McCormick

The Frequency of Things
As part of the NI Science Festival this solo exhibition by Dr. Josephine McCormick explores and rethinks ‘The Frequency of Things’ in relation to the impact of ‘The Internet of Things’ (IoT).
We are between two ages as we enter into the ‘Technetronic’ era, the fourth industrial revolution.
The connectivity of the ‘Internet of Things’ will fundamentally alter how we live, work and relate to one another. It is characterised by the fusion of technologies that are blurring the lines between the physical, digital, social and biological spheres.
McCormick’s artwork utilizes an armory of techniques such as a frequency generator and printmaking in order to express frequencies including the 5G frequency found between 24 - 52 Gigahertz, Cymatic frequencies, the Schumann resonance which is the
frequency of human beings and the Earth at 7.83 Hertz.
The exhibition will run until 22nd February.Open Mon-Fri 11am-6pm, Sat 12-5pm and closed Sun. All welcome.
