ARTICLE 25 Photographic exhibition by Westcourt Camera club

‘Article 25’ is a photographic exhibition facilitated by the Westcourt Centre and Westcourt Camera Club as part of Homelessness Awareness Week 2018.

Article 25 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that ‘everyone has the right to adequate housing’ but yet the NI Housing Executive figures for 2017/2018 show that 11,877 people are homeless. Moreover, the number of households designated as statutory homeless in Northern Ireland increased by 32 per cent between 2012 and 2017.
The images were produced by Westcourt Camera Club in collaboration with local homeless services. We asked men and women to share their feelings and emotions about being homeless and asked what they missed most about home.
