Anarcho Noir

Anarchist activist Kevin Doyle will talk about his crime thriller series set in Cork – the Solidarity Books trilogy - which explores the underworld of Garda collusion with the Catholic church. To Keep A Bird Singing (2018) and A River of Bodies (2019) center around Noelie Sullivan who stumbles into Cork’s murky past after finding his old missing punk records on sale in a charity shop in Cork. Among the LPs is information implicating Special Branch in the disappearance of local man, Jim Dalton, twenty years earlier. But why did Dalton, a quiet factory worker, suddenly disappear?  Sullivan delves into the matter but quickly regrets his move. To Keep A Bird Singing was described by David Park as a “... thrilling debut that looks corruption in the eye and never blinks”. A River of Bodies, the sequel, was published in July.
